Cleared

Cleared / Security and privacy

We hold criminal record information. We act like it.

The rules below are enforced by the database itself, not by a promise in the app. A second app, a support script or a future integration cannot go around them.

Disclosures reach one person

A criminal record disclosure routes to the screening officer your organization names. No other admin, coach or Cleared employee can read it. Every readable field says only that it was reviewed and referred.

Row level security on every table

Access rules live in the database. A zone admin sees their zone. A coach sees themselves. Sensitive fields sit in separate tables, because a row rule cannot hide a column.

Append-only by design

The audit log, door scans, incident flags and document access records cannot be edited or deleted, by anyone, including us.

Every look is logged

Each time a person opens a stored document, the system records who, which document and when.

Canadian data, your retention

Data is hosted in Canada. Stored documents are purged on the schedule your policy sets. The verdict and its date are kept.

Audited every week

An automated security review runs across the code, database and deployment weekly. Serious findings are fixed before anything else ships.

Cleared acts as a service provider to your organization under Alberta PIPA and federal PIPEDA. A data processing agreement is part of every contract. Questions: hello@clearedsport.com
